Angelo Colapicchioni, the artisan maestro
The history Of the Forno Pasticceria Colapicchioni, is the story of a man who dedicated his life to the art of pastry. Angelo Colapicchioni, as a matter of fact, since he was a young boy, attended his grandmother’s bakery, in the town of Ruscio Monteleone dreaming to be a baker himself.
His dream became reality when, still very young, took over a busyness in the heart of Rome turning it, in a
few years, into a forefront enterprise and one of the most renowned and famous bakery of Rome, which is
praised to have a high artisan quality.
During his forty years experience, Angelo Colapicchioni, has created numerous high quality recipes. Among these, a dietetic bun – which was even praised in the scientific world – and, recently, the Pangiall’Oro, the last evolution of the Roman Pangiallo.
Angelo Colapicchioni, during the past years, has received many awards for the trade he has done, he was
awarded the title of Commendatore (official title awarded for services to one's country) and, in May 2004,
he was awarded the “Maestro dell’ Artigianato” (Artisan Maestro) prize given by the mayor of Rome,
Walter Veltroni.
His bakery was acknowledged with the title of Bottega Storica dei Rioni e Quartieri (Districts of
Historical Neighbourhoods and Shop) and, on June 26th, 2004, the Premio Capitolino d’Oro (Roman Golden Prize) from the Norman Academy, for his commitments to the food trades.
